However, by pulling on the front of the seat, every other board pulls out to double the width of the couch seat and provide a slatted frame for a mattress. Contemporary style is 82" long and built of any clear hardwood. (2) A settle. Giving the appearance of a narrow bench with a tall back, the back actually drops down to become a bed. The seat of the settle lifts up to store blankets and pillows for the bed. Unit shown is 79" tall and 60" wide and comes out from the wall a maximum of only 28" at the base and 12 " in the tall back.
