SCOPE OF INDEX:  A chronological rather than subject index. The emphasis is on local news with marriages, deaths and social events frequently listed. Consistancy of coverage varies.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A typed book form index with 6x9 inch pages. The year is typed at the top of each page. Down the left hand side is typed the issue date of the paper (mo,dy,yr). Under each date are listed brief descriptions of one or more articles selected from that issue. The description usually contain a personal name.
SIZE OF INDEX:  There are 1 to 10 entries per month of newspaper and an average of 6 pages per year of newspaper.
