SCOPE OF INDEX:  Primarily an index to the local news which usually appeared on page 3 of this four page newspaper. Emphasis is on names of local persons and events of interest to Fredricksburg VA.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A book-form index typewritten on 8½x11 inch pages. The entries consist of the personal name (last name first) or subject, followed by a brief word or two of annotation, and then followed by a single number. The number refers to the issue number whose date of publication may be determined by using a chart at the front of the index.
SIZE OF INDEX:  There are 26,700 entries in the 11 volumes (505 pages) of this index.
