AVAILABILITY:  A published index. The current years index is available in 12 monthly issues plus an annual cumulation for $450 per year. Annual cumulations only are availavle for $350 per year. Copies of the index are available for public use in the New York Public Library.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  Indexes national news from France and international news covering all the different fields, including, political, economical, social and cultural aspects of life, science and technology.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  The index is divided into two sections, ANALYTICAL SECTION and CHRONOLOGICAL SECTION. In the ANALYTICAL section, the articles are classified by subject. Each entry contains the following information: 1. Title of the article 2. Author 3. Name of paper 4. Date, page & column 5. Accession number In the CHRONOLOGICAL section, the entries are arranged in numerical order by ACCESSION NUMBER. There is only one entry for each separate article. The entry contains the same information as the analytical section plus a brief abstract of the article. A complete list of subject headings used in the ANALYTICAL section appears in the annual cumulation. A monthly index runs to 230 pages and an annual cumulation about 2,550 pages. The page size is 11" wide x 8 1/2" high. There are three columns per page. Entries are phototypeset and reproduction is by offset printing.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 25,000 articles per year contribute some 130,000 entries per year to the index.
