SCOPE OF INDEX:  Indexes news articles, editorials, advertisements, poetry, letters to the editor, personal names, business news, ships, geography, ...etc. Not limited to items of local interest, although the emphasis is on local information. "Filler" material, such as news stores re-printed from other newspapers, have not been indexed.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A book form index consisting of two mimeographed volumes totaling 655 pages. Page size is 8½x11 inches. Both subjects and names are interfiled in the same alphabetical order. Entries consist of a brief annotation, followed by the day, month, year, page and column where the article appeared. Advertisements are noted with the code (adv).
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 21,000 total entries in the indes.
