NOTE:  Correspondence with the former reference librarian who was responsible for indexing the Louisville Courier-Journal indicates that it was a 3x5 card file index with emphasis on Kentucky labor, economy, politics and important persons. The project was "shortlived" due to the indexer's promotion. We do not yet have specifics on the period of time covered by the index, samples or enough similar information to compile a report on the index. We have not received a response to our inquiry about the Lexington Leader index.
