A. Laramie Newspapers. 1877-1878. We do not have a Laramie Index for these years.
B. Laramie Sentinel. 1873-1895. The only index to the Sentinel that we have for this period of time is "Indian Index to the Laramie Daily Sentinel. 1873-1895." It is a chronological guide, not a subject index. It consists of 19 pages, some of which are handwritten entries on lined tablet paper, and some of which are typed on both lined and unlined paper. The pages are in a cardboard binder. The material has never been published. We have no information as to why it was compiled, when or by whom.
C. Rawlins newspapers. 1877-1878. This is not an index to Rawlins newspapers. It is entitled "A Carbon County Chronology 1867-1879." It was compiled by Daniel Y. Meschter, Cheyenne, Wyoming, May 1, 1970. It is a good chronology of Carbon County and is made up of excerpts from newspapers on significant historical events in Carbon County. The newspaper excerpts, are primarily from the Cheyenne Daily Leader, the Cheyenne Daily Sun, the Laramie Daily Sentinel and other Laramie newspapers. It is typescript, carbon copy, and has never been published.
D. Cheyenne newspapers. 1877-1878. This is probably "Notes from the file of the Cheyenne Leader in the Wyoming State Historical Department, Cheyenne Wyoming. September 19, 1867 to September 19, 1868." This is typescript, about 200 pages. It is a chronology with no breakdown of subjects. It is in a binder, and has not been published."
