SCOPE OF INDEX: Any reference to any individual, birth, death, marriage, tax list, voter list... which would place him or her in this area is indexed. |
FORMAT OF INDEX: A book-form index consisting of 62 pages (8½x11 inches). The body of the index is a chronological listing of articles which appeared, and are within the scope of this index. Each index consists of a description of the article and the people cited. A special surname index (4 pages) guides the user to the chronological listing. In addition, there is an 8 page listing of registered voters of Jasper County for the year 1868 and a listing of delinquent taxpayers for 1868. There also are list of letters remaining at the post office of Carthage MO. |
