FORMAT OF INDEX:  The index is found in two forms: 1. A 3x5 card file index, arranged in alphabetical order by subject. Each card has many citations, usually without any descriptive word or phrase to indicate the specific content of the article. The citation consists of the month-day-year. 2. A 6x9 book-form index which is actually a chronology of articles which appeared in the paper. Entries consist of the headline or a brief phrase, plus the month-day-year when the article appeared. It is not clear to the editor if all of the indexed articles appear in both the chronology and the subject index.
