AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this index exists. It must be used in the Alaska State Library.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  Most of the index is in the form of 3x5 cards arranged in alphabetical order by subject. Each card contains one or more entries consisting of a brief description, a code for the newspaper, and the date (mo-dy-yr) and page where the article appeared. A portion of the more recent indexing (1973-1976) is in the form of computer printout, arranged in alphabetical order by subject. This was part of an experiment in cooperative indexing involving several Alaska libraries.
