AVAILABILITY:  Only one original and a few carbon copies of this book form index exist. They must be used in the Richardson Library of the Hardin-Simmons University.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  The emphasis was placed on local events and personalities. There is very little state wide or national news cited in the index. According to the introduction: "The workers endeavored to take notice of 'the most important' items and stories... In respect to biographies and matters pertaining to prominent persons, the index is comparatively complete.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A book-form index, typewritten on 8½x11 inch pages. Both subject headings and personal names are included in the same alphabet. Entries consist of the headline and/or brief description, followed by the year, month, day and page where the article appeared. Occasionally, two, three or four entry statements are strung one after another, like a short paragraph, and then the corresponding two, three or four citations follow all in a row.
SIZE OF INDEX:  There are 287 pages in the index.
