SCOPE OF INDEX: Includes news of southern Nevada (Clark, Esmeralda, Nye, and Lincoln counties) and state news having an impact on southern Nevada. Special attention is given to indexing gambling news on a local, state, national and international basis. Excluded from the index are most sports news, social and society news, classified advertising, and news already indexed by other national indexes (New York Times Index, Readers Guide,...ect.). |
FORMAT OF INDEX: A 3x5 card file index arranged in alphabetical order by subject. Subjects are based on the NY Times subject thesarus. Each card contains several entries in chronological order. Each entry begins with the date of the paper (mo-dy-yr), followed by a code for the paper (Sun or RJ), followed by the page and/or section, and then the headline. |
SIZE OF INDEX: About 10,000 entries per year are added to the index. |
