SCOPE OF INDEX:  Included in the index are references to editorials, cartoons, periodicals, books, magazines, pamphlets and treatises. As a rule, letters are not indexed. Also includes references to many personal names and general subjects.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A book-form index typewritten on 8½x11 inch pages. There is a separate index for each uear 1936-1940. Entries consist of the subject or personal name being cited, plus the citation (month-day-pg-column). Only occasionally is there a word or two of detail about the content of the article.
