FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index, handwritten. Both subjects and personal names are interfiled in the same alphabet. Entries consist of a brief description of the article. The citation is shown in the upper right hand corner of the card and consists of an abbreviation for the newspaper (N.S.J.) followed by the date (mo-dy-yr), page and column.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 30,000 entries (30,000) cards) in the entire index.
