AVAILABILITY:  One copy of this book form index is available for use at the Nebraska State Historical Society. Photocopies of all or part of the index will be made at prevailing rates.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  This is largely a subject index, a few personal names included, gleaned from the files of various Hastings newspapers spanning the period 1872-1938. It is not comprehensive.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A book form index typewritten on 8½x11 inch pages. Entries consist of a brief annotation, followed by the citation. The citation consists of the month, day, name of paper, and year.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 11,000 entries. The index is composed of one volume of 546 pages.
