AVAILABILITY:  Work in progress. The one copy of this card file index must be used at the Nevada Historical Society (Reno NV).
SCOPE OF INDEX:  It is intended that this index will cover events, individuals, institutions, businesses, mines, politics, culture, economic developments, transportation, social history and any number of other topics which might come up for the state of Nevada during the years covered. The compiler is quite familiar with the history of the area and will make selections of articles to index in the light of their relative importance.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index arranged in alphabetical order by subject. Usually several entries on each card. Each entry begins with the citation. Each citation consists of the date (month, day, year), page, column, and a code for the newspaper. This is followed by a brief description of the contents of the article being indexed.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 700 to 800 entries per month are being added to the index.
