SCOPE OF INDEX:  Indexes local, state, national and international news. Includes obituaries, news of local organizations, wedding anniversaries, concerts by local performers, local school news, etc. Advertising is omitted from the index.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index divided into two sections: PERSONAL NAMES and GENERAL SUBJECTS. Cards may be either typed or handwritten. Various formats are used. Some older cards begin with the citation (month, day, year, page & column), then the personal name and finally the headline or brief annotation. Newer index cards begin with the personal name, then give the headline or annotation and finally the citation (day, month, year, page & column).
SIZE OF INDEX:  A total of 35 drawers of 3x5 cards. No estimate of entry count.
