SCOPE OF INDEX:  Emphasis on local news. Includes obituaries.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  The index is printed by computer using the KWOC (keywork out of context) technique. This computer technique selects a keywork and prints it in the left hand margin. This keyword (in alphabetical order along with other keywords) is followed by the headline or phrase from which the keyword was selected. The headline is then followed by the citation. The citation consists of the date (mo-dy-yr), the newspaper code, the volume, issue and page numbers where the article appeared. Because of the keyword arrangement of entries, the 3,413 "main entries" may be "exploded" to produce many more entries in the finished index. The index is printed onto 15" wide x 11" long computer paper.
SIZE OF INDEX:  The 1902-1910, 1965, and 1975 years produced 3,413 "main entries".
