AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Rhode Island Historical Society library. Library staff will not search the index for lists of personal names.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  Focus on Rhode Island items, but covers national and international news items as well.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index arranged in alphabetical order with both subjects and personal names interfiled. Usually several entries per card. Entry consists of the headline or a brief description followed by the month, day, year, section and/or page.
SIZE OF INDEX:  Occupies nine card catalog drawers.
