FORMAT OF INDEX:  A book form index typewritten on 8½x11 inch pages, and divided into two sections: BIOGRAPHY and SUBJECTS. Within the biography section, the arrangement is alphabetical by name. Entries consist of a brief description followed by the date (mo-day-yr), volume, page, and column where the article appeared. Within the subject section, the arrangement is first by broad topical area (see Scope note) and then chronologically. Additional keywords precede many of the entries.
