AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Sioux City Public Library. Cards may be photocopied.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  Indexes subjects of general interest within the "Sioux land" area (encompassing a 50 mile radius around Sioux City and reaching into Nebraska and South Dakota). Omitted from the index is national and international news, obituaries, births, weddings, and most news about individuals, unless a prominent citizen or involved in a major story.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index in alphabetical order by subject, with a few personal names interfiled. Entries consist of the headline and/or a brief description, followed by the citation. The citation includes a code for the newspaper, the date (mo-day-yr), section, page, and column where the article appeared. Accompanying photographs are noted.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 50 entries per month are added to the current index.
