AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of the card file index exists. It must be used at the Sullivan Review newspaper.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  This index was started in 1977 by one of the co-publishers of the newspaper mainly for the purpose of helping local residents, or those with local antecedents, to trace their family histories. The work has developed slowly and was expanded slightly to include place and association names of purely local interest. When the index was begun, the earliest microfilms on hand were of the 1879 papers. Since then, the 1878 papers (first year of publication) have become available and will be included in the index. A special listing of births and deaths is also being made.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A card file index arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the person mentioned in the newspaper article. The entry consists solely of the date (month, day, year) of the newspaper in which this name appeared.
