AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Superior Public Library.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  Not comprehensive. Includes only those items judged to be of local interest (City of Superior, Douglas County, State of Wisconsin). Includes some obituaries and births, but not all.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file arranged in alphabetical order by subject. Includes special subject headings (or sections) for BIOGRAPHY; BIRTHS (both alphabetical and by date); and DEATHS (both alphabetical and by date). Personal names are also interfiled with the subject headings. Entries begin with the citation (Name of paper, date, page, and column) followed by the headline and/or brief description of the article on the second line. There are usually several entries on each card.
SIZE OF INDEX:  Estimate 150,000 entries on some 40,000 cards.
