SCOPE OF INDEX:  This is an index of the marriages and deaths reported in the Hillsborough Recorder.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  This is a book form index that has been typed on 8½x11 inch pages. Entries are arranged in alphabetical order by personal name. It appears that marriages are in one section of the index and deaths in a second section. Entries for marriages are entered twice, once under the name of the bride and once under the name of the groom. The entry includes the name of the spouse and the date of the wedding, plus the citation (month, day, year). In some cases, the name or initials of the bride's father are also noted. Entries for deaths include the name of the person, date of birth, date of death, and the citation (month, day, year).
