SCOPE OF INDEX: This is an index of marriages and obituaries. |
FORMAT OF INDEX: This is a book form index typed on 8½x11 inch pages. Marriage entries consist of the name of the groom, the bride, date of the marriage, and the citation. It appears from the sample page provided that the names of the brides are in a separate section of the index and are cross referenced with "see" notations to the name of the groom. Obituary entries include the name of the deceased, the date of birth, the date of death, and the citation (month, day, and year). Marriages and obituaries are probably in separate sections within the index. NOTE: The newspaper name varied and was also titled the N.C. STATE GAZETTE. |
