A great number of area cemetery tombstone inscriptions are also in the index along with all death records from 1870-1879 as found in volume 1 of Deaths from the St.Croix County register of deeds office. In addition, all 624 persons listed in the 1850 census for St.Croix, Wisconsin have been included in the index.

This is followed by the citation (paper, month, day, year) and a brief notation (e.g. OBIT or BIOG SKETCH,...). When available, the slip also contains the names of the person's parents, spouse, children, brothers, and/or sisters.
SIZE OF INDEX:  The index contains about 125,000 entries. About 50 new entries per week are added to the index.
