SCOPE OF INDEX: Emphasis is on Arizona news. Obituaries of individuals who have lived in Arizona for 20 years or more and those who are especially prominent in the state are indexed. |
FORMAT OF INDEX: This was a published index. Four 8½x11-inch semi-annual indexes were produced. Each volume had about 200 pages. The index copy was typed and duplicated by offset printing. About 200 copies of each issue were produced and distributed to other libraries. The index is arranged in one alphabetical listing including both subjects and personal names. Entries are in chronological order under each heading. The entry consists of the headline or brief description of the article. The citation consists of the month, day, section, page and column. Photographs were indicated by the code "illus". |
SIZE OF INDEX: About 40,000 to 50,000 entries for the two years (4 volumes) published. |
