AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this 3x5 card file index exists. It must be used in the Boston Public Library. Library staff will make simple searches at no charge. Photocopies of index cards are available for $3 per page (about 6 cards).
SCOPE OF INDEX:  Indexes descriptions and pictorial material on Boston architecture and obituaries of New England architects. The emphasis is on Boston architects and architects who have designed buildings in Boston. The index began with non-newspaper citations in 1963. Newspapers were added starting in 1973.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index. The entries are classified by address, type of building and/or name of building. The descriptive information includes the headline, title and/or brief description of the contents of the article being indexed. Citation includes the name of periodical or newspaper and the date. Accompanying illustrations are noted.
