SCOPE OF INDEX:  Subject index is limited to events in Cape Girardeau and immediate vicinity and to events of general interest and importance.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  Typed index on 8½x11 inch pages, published annually in limited edition. About 45 pages per annual edition. Consists of subject headings followed by one or more entries in chronological order. Each entry consists of the headline, plus the month, day and page where the article appeared. "il" indicates that an illustration accompanied the article.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 2,760 entries per annual index.
