AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this 3x5 card file index exists. It must be used in the Reference Department of the Central Arkansas Library System.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  Only the Sunday Edition of the ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT was indexed. The index includes information on Arkansas and Arkansans considered to be of historical value. The indexing has been done by various individuals without definite guidelines, so it is somewhat inconsistant in coverage. Omitted from the index is any news which would be covered by the New York Times Index (such as Congressional delegation speeches).
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index in one alphabetical order. Each card consists of a subject heading followed by one or more entries. The cards are numbered within each subject. Each entry consists of the headline, newspaper name (DEM or GAZ), month, day, year, page, section and column.
SIZE OF INDEX:  Estimate that 50 entries per month are added to the index.
