SCOPE OF INDEX:  The index includes all named persons from the locality and most for the state. Some names from national news items have been included. A few places names or subject headings may be included.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A book-form index typewritten on 8½x11 inch pages. The entries are arranged in alphabetical order by personal name (last name first), followed by a brief word or phrase concerning the reason for mention in the paper, and then followed by the citation. The citation consists of three (or four) numbers indicating the (volume), issue, page and column.
SIZE OF INDEX:  A total of 62,500 entries are included in the 19 volumes (625 pages) of the index.
