AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the library of the Journal & Courier newspaper. Special arrangements will have to be made for use by anyone not a reporter for the newspaper.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  Only local stories, no national stories, are included in the index.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index arranged in alphabetic order by subject or personal name. Each card contains only one entry. Each entry begins with the citation on the top line, consisting of the month, day, year, page and column where the article will be found. Following this is a sometimes lengthy annotation of the contents of the article. In addition to the year being typed on the card as a part of the citation, each years worth of entries are placed on different color cards.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 1200 cards per month are added to the index.
