AVAILABILITY:  Only two copies of this card file index exist. They must be used in the Kenton County Public Library.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  We are indexing the local history of Northern Kentucky. This includes the counties of Boone, Campbell and Kenton. We are indexing from 1835 to the present and we are currently (as of Nov 1977) in the year 1852. All of the obituaries and death notices from the 19th century to the present are also going to be indexed.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index arranged in alphabetical order by subject and personal name. Each card is devoted to a single subject with more than one entry per card. Each entry consists of the headline and/or a brief annotation followed by the citation. The citation consists of an abbreviation for the newspaper, followed by the month-day-year and page where the article appeared. There are two copies of the index. One is the handwritten original card and the second is the typed version which is available for reference.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 1000 entries per month are added to the index.
