AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Indiana History Room at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  The primary emphasis is on Floyd County, then the Southern Indiana region and finally, Indiana. The areas of primary interest are biographies, obituaries, and information dealing with buildings, businesses, and organizations. Items of statewide or national interest are included only when involving local individuals. Omitted from the index are advertising, routine club meetings, social and sports events.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index with special sections for business, biographies, marriages and obituaries. Usually more than one entry per card. Each entry begins with the citation (newspaper abbreviation, month, day, year, page & column), followed by the headline and a brief summary (if needed).
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 300 entries per month are added to the index.
