AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Reference Department of the New Haven Free Public Library.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  The index concentrates on local news and state news. Omitted are: National and international news, editorial, obituaries, routine sports and social events.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index with subjects, personal names and corporations interfiled in a single alphabetical order. The entries are hand printed with more than one entry per card. Entries consist of the headline or brief description, followed by the citation (month-day-year; page & column).
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 200 entries per month are added to the current index.
