SCOPE OF INDEX:  This is an index to death and marriage notices appearing in Trenton NJ newspapers, 1776-1900.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index, with one entry per card. Arranged in alphabetical order by personal name. Each card includes the name of the person, the date of death or marriage, the newspaper name, the date and page reference where the article appeared, and (in the case of marriages) the spouse's name.
SIZE OF INDEX:  The index occupies 81 card catalog drawers.
