AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Novato Regional Library.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  The index is limited to the local (Novato) area. Subjects include: the city, the community, people, sports, school activities, clubs, business, local development and City Council actions. Omitted from the index are obituaries, births, court actions, accidents, and crime.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index classified according to 64 subject headings. Each card consists of several entries. Each entry begins with the date (mo-dy-yr), followed by the headline or a brief description, and ends with the section and page number.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 600 cards as of August 1978.
