AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Riverside Public Library.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  Comprehensive coverage of city and county news. Omitted from the index are obituaries, editorials, routine social news, routine sports news, and vital statistics. The 1878-1964 coverage is quite sparse.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index with both subjects and personal names interfiled in the same alphabetical order. Entries consist of the headline, followed by the citation. The citation consists of the newspaper name (coded), the month, day, year, section and page. Pictures, maps and charts are also noted.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 500 entries per month are added to the current index.
