SCOPE OF INDEX: The Washington Companies file indexes newspaper articles that contain economic, financial and organizational information on Washington companies and companies doing business in Washington. Contracts under $100,000 awarded to companies are not indexed unless they contain information about the company. Non-profit corporations are excluded. |
FORMAT OF INDEX: A 3x5 card file index arranged in alphabetical order by name of company. Each card contains one or more entries consisting of a brief description of the article, a code for the newspaper, and the date (month, day, and year). Most of the articles indexed are also clipped and placed in a vertical file which currently occupies about 1400 folders. |
SIZE OF INDEX: 235 drawers of card entries. |
