SCOPE OF INDEX:  This is an index to local material. General articles or a series of articles that are not local in nature, but are in depth on a general subject (abortion, heart disease, dental health, etc) are also indexed. News of government, business, elections, schools, churches, organizations, major accidents, major crimes, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, and obituaries are included in the index.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index with both subjects and personal names interfiled in the same alphabet. Entries consist of the headline, code for the paper, date (day-month-year), page and column where the article appeared. Photos or other illustrations are noted.
SIZE OF INDEX:  About 150 entries per month are added to the current index.
