SCOPE OF INDEX:  Comprehensive indexing of state government, Harrisburg City and area news was the primary objective. Personal names and obituaries of prominent persona are indexed. Items of statewide interest are included. Omitted are vital statistics, advertising, and sports events.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index arranged in alphabetical order with subjects and personal names interfiled. There is one entry per card consisting of the headline and/or a brief description, the name of the paper, the date (mo/day/yr), section, page, and column.
