AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Reference Department of the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  An index to the U of M student newspaper. It emphasizes University of Michigan subjects and personal names.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A handwritten 3x5 card file index with subjects and personal names interfiled in a single alphabetical order. The handwriting is very small with as many entries as possible fitted on each card. Each entry consists of the headline, followed by the newspaper name, month, day, year, and page.
SIZE OF INDEX:  It is estimated that there are about 35,000 entries in the index, based on an average of four entries per card for about 9,000 cards.
