AVAILABILITY:  Only one copy of this card file index exists. It must be used in the Newspaper Room of the O. Meredith Wilson Library. Corresponding copies of the newspapers are also available.
SCOPE OF INDEX:  This is a subject index limited to midwest news, editorial opinion, and letters to the editor. The Minneapolis Daily herald was indexed during a short period when the Tribune was on strike. Excluded from the index are Sports, Theater and movie reviews, Society notes, Book reviews, and Obituaries (except for prominent persons).
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index with subjects and personal names interfiled in a single alphabetical order. The entry includes the headline or a brief description followed by the citation (month, day, page, section, and column). The year appears once at the top of each card.
