SCOPE OF INDEX: This is a subject index limited to midwest news, editorial opinion, and letters to the editor. The Minneapolis Daily herald was indexed during a short period when the Tribune was on strike. Excluded from the index are Sports, Theater and movie reviews, Society notes, Book reviews, and Obituaries (except for prominent persons). |
FORMAT OF INDEX: A 3x5 card file index with subjects and personal names interfiled in a single alphabetical order. The entry includes the headline or a brief description followed by the citation (month, day, page, section, and column). The year appears once at the top of each card. |
