SCOPE OF INDEX:  This is a subject index to limited midwest topics, editorial opinion, and letters to the editor. Excluded are sports, theater and movie reviews, book review, socity notes, and obituaries (except for those of prominent persons).
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A 3x5 card file index with subjects and personal names in a single alphabetical order. The entry consists of the headline or a brief description, followed by the citation (month, day, page, section, and column). The year appears once at the top of each card.
