AVAILABILITY:  A published index. Copies available from the publisher for $12.50 each. A copy is available for public use in the Maryland Historical Society Library (201 W. Monument St, Baltimore MD 21201).
SCOPE OF INDEX:  A personal name index to people who were married, who died, and the clergymen mentioned as having performed marriages.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A typewritten index printed in a 6x9 inch book format. The index is divided into three sections: MARRIAGE & DEATH NOTICES, NOTES ON MARYLAND CLERGY, and SURNAME CROSS INDEX. Each section is arranged in alphabetical order by name. The MARRIAGE & DEATH NOTICES includes name, date of death or marriage, circumstances surrounding death, etc. The NOTES ON MARYLAND CLERGY section contains the names of those ministers mentioned as having performed marriages. Whenever possible, the demonination and churches served by a particular clergyman are given. Other biographical information is often given about the minister. The SURNAME CROSS INDEX is an alphabetical guide to the other two sections of the index. It consists of simply the last name and the page (or pages) where that name appears in the other two sections.
SIZE OF INDEX:  Approximately 3000 marriages and deaths of Maryland people are noted in this 234 page index.
