SCOPE OF INDEX:  The index is divided into two parts, a TOPICAL index and a BIOGRAPHICAL index. The TOPICAL index covers a wide range of subjects from such broad categories as Agriculture, Customs and practices, Weather, and Wildlife; to more specific subjects such as individual towns, villages, high schools, churches, and organizations. The BIOGRAPHICAL portion is principally an index to obituaries, but includes other news items of special significance for some individuals.
FORMAT OF INDEX:  A card file index. Each entry provides a capsule summary of the information in the article, plus the date of the newspaper, page, and column.
